Family Easter

Well, Leah has officially had her first Easter. Overall, it was a great day. The reason we celebrate this day is so awesome and mind blowing. There really are no words to describe the sacrifice Christ made! Anyway, we always have lunch with the family and it was a great lunch. As usual, we ate too much and now are ready for naps. We took some pictures with the family which always seem to be eventful. Why is it that you can't get a good picture in just one take? I think our dialogue was something like this...."you sit here...now stand beside your sister... move a little to the right...you are not in the picture get closer...please don't use that goofy smile...could someone please move the twig (we were outside)...something is on the camera, it's hazy right over Barrett's face, go get the Windex...and then when everyone is set for the picture....uh oh, I think Leah just spit up!" Well, nothing in our household is without event, but I think the pictures are pretty good given the circumstances. It's really hard to get all three kids to smile at the same time, but we might have gotten one...

Easter Fun

So it took a while to get them perfected, but here is a picture of the cupcakes we made for Easter. The kids helped and altogether, it was fun! Oh, Jaime was a big help too. She did all the ears. It was a very sticky job, since she had to slice marshmallows!

The way we were....

Psalms 127:3 (the message)

Don't you see that children are God's best gift? the fruit of the womb his generous legacy? Like a warrior's fistful of arrows are the children of a vigorous youth. Oh, how blessed are you parents, with your quivers full of children!

What did we do before kids? For the life of me I can't remember. I know there was stuff to do, but it's like I have this mental block. For one, I didn't sit at home all day and do laundry and dishes and clean only to wake up the next morning and do it all again. Now my life is dictated by three little people, all of which are at least 2 decades younger than myself, whose schedules are incessantly busy. When did this happen? Did I blink and suddenly become laiden with the reponsibility of all this? Well, whenever it happened, I wouldn't trade it for anything. I think that they [kiddos] keep me young and on my toes. Sometimes I feel like we don't have time to breathe, but what boredom would we be experiencing without them. Barrett and I have had conversations trying to remember life before children, but it's not possible to recover those memories. Maybe because they are not worth recovering. I think I've decided that life didn't begin until them. This time in our life is hard, but probably the best. I know one day I will look back, when my kids are bigger and don't think that we are worthy of their presence, and wish for this time again. When my house is empty and I no longer hear "mommy" five million times a day, when there are no more diapers to change, when there are no more sippy cups to fix, when there are no more fights to break up, when there is no need to hide in the bathroom for 2 minutes of solitude, it will be then that this time will not seem busy, hectic or chaotic, but it will be priceless!

Fun photos...

While we were in Pine Mountain, we found this neat little place to take pictures. So we did our own photo shoot. Some of the pictures actually turned out pretty good. LauraBeth was convinced that she needed to have a "model look" almost every time! This is about the best pic of Leah we could get. Just way too much going on for her to focus on the camera.

Spring Break Safari

This spring break we decided to do something a little different than the beach, so we went to Pine Mountain, GA. I know you are thinking what's in Pine Mountain, well not much except a real wild animal safari. (The food is less than desirable!) We had so much fun! You can actually drive a vehicle through this park and lots of wild animals come to your window and beg for food. There were zebras, giraffes, llamas, watusi, bulls, bison, ostrich, all kinds of deer, and cuite little pot belly pigs. Although, we didn't get still pictures of the safari, the video is priceless. We also went to a farm and the kids got to ride a horse, ride go-karts, do an obstacle course, ride a train, play miniature golf, and pet some baby goats. I think the safari was my favorite, mainly because the kids reactions, good and bad, to the animals. Oh, and one of the animals scared Barrett so badly that he fell out of his seat! Really wish I had pictures of that. This is one trip we won't soon forget!

Leah...

I thought everyone would be interested in seeing Leah's 3 month picture. Sorry, it's a picture of a picture, but that's the only way I could post it. I also included what I caught her doing in her bed....I think she's teething! Hope everyone enjoys!

New Chapter for LauraBeth

Some of you may know that LB just changed pre-schools. I know it may seem crazy to change this late in the year, but we let her decide and she wanted a new school. It was very bittersweet leaving Hunter Street because they have done such an amazing job taking care of her for the past 4 years. I hated to leave, but Leah will be there next year. Anyway, LB started at Trace Crossings last week and she has loved it. She says that she goes to big school now (it is actually a state funded preschool, so it is in an elemetary school). She goes to music, art, and PE once a week and she gets to eat lunch in the lunchroom (big deal to her, but soon she'll figure out there's not much to be excited about school food :)). She goes 5 days a week now and gets an extra hour (good for me!). This program is great and her teachers are wonderful! They put together special needs children with typically developing children. LB thinks she is a little mommy. She still misses her best friends from Hunter Street, and they actually came over and played yesterday. She is making new friends and adapting well. I have learned so much about her over the past week. She is a strong and resilient child. Change doesn't bother her at all, in fact, she welcomes the challenge. I think I could learn a lot from her! Here are a few pics of her and her new friends!

First time for everything...

Well, Leah is almost 5 months old and we are definitely starting to have some "firsts". She reaches out and tries to grab everything and is all smiles all the time. She is also getting pretty vocal. She is rolling over both ways now and this week we explored juice in a sippy cup. She was better at the cup than I thought she would be, but we still have a little work to do. Enjoy the pic!

March Madness

I know the term "March Madness" is reserved for college basketball playoffs, but for the Edgeworths, it describes baseball and softball season. Both kids are playing at different parks and most of the time their practices are at the same time or back to back. So needless to say, it's madness. We are so busy with this, but it's lots of fun for the kids. This is Cole's third year to play and LB's first. Cole is doing well and really starting to get the hang of the sport. Being that it is LB's first, paying attention is a little challenging for her, but regardless I think she is having fun. We start games next Saturday! Seems a little soon for games to start, but nobody asked me :)
